12 Ingenious Ways to Make Awesome Fast Food Even Better

Deep frying a pizza is about as ingenious a culinary development as has ever been seen, but it’s far from the most ingenious hack that improves this kind of food. Try America’s latest craze: the McEverything Burger, but please don’t die.
Let’s be honest, we all love a cheeky takeaway – or feasting on some 2am greasy guilty pleasure – but have you ever wondered what it would be like if these delicious binges were even more indulgent?
Devilish treats like battered Mars Bars have left us hankering for more, but are we really making the most out of our sweet, sweet carb-cravings? If you’re a carb-o-holic, a sucker for a decent takeaway, or just have a desire for plain self-indulgence, you’re probably going to want to at least think about exploring one of these daringly darker options to binge eating. Why not try out one or two of these fascinating yet awesome ideas for combinations of greasy goodness? They’re there, ready and waiting to be put to the table. That is, with or without a knife and fork.

12. The ‘Parmo-Burrito’. Two Legendary Takeouts; One Legendary Meal

Love parmo, love burrito? Ever wondered what the two culinary delights would be like combined? Now is the time to ask these questions and embrace them in the form of one epic takeaway.
The ‘parmo’, a delicious grease feast originating from the North-East of England – a dish almost exclusive to the North – consists of deep fried chicken or pork coated in breadcrumbs, topped with generous lashings of cheese and béchamel sauce. It is also available in numerous forms: the Hawaiian parmo  (with slices of ham and fruity pineapple) or the bolognese parmo (yep, obviously) to name two. With so many different variations of this delightful takeout branching out, now seems like the perfect time to take it one step further, both Geographically, and in terms of calories.
To do this, ask for a naked burrito (which can be different variations of chilli and spicy beans) and smother it on top of a half-parmo wrap. Wrap the filling/deep-fried base together with the tortilla, and voila! Result? Mexico meets meat in some awesome food fest. As if a burrito – or a parmo for that matter – wasn’t already filling enough.

11. The ‘Epic Breakfast Banquet Manwich’. Bagel, Waffle, Egg, Waffle, Bacon, Hash Brown, Bagel… Mouth Watering Yet?

If you get hungry at breakfast time, its probably the best time to be hungry: with plenty of hours exercise off the meat-sweats before you get to bed, you’re allowed to take full advantage of the calorie potential throughout the day. So you might as well do just that.
Everyone deserves a breakfast feast fit for a king. As the most important meal of the day, it’s essential that you get your grease fix, whether it’s a drive-through quickie or a kitchen-based fast-frying frenzy. So, instead of facing the untimely decision of whether or not to go for a bacon or sausage sandwich – why not combine all of the ingredients? A nicely toasted breakfast muffin or bagel filled with layers of potato waffles, separated by bacon, egg, hash browns, sausage, and ketchup will surely do the trick. Failing the kitchen thing just buy some McHash browns and stick them in a bacon egg McMuffin on your way to work.

10. ‘Pop Tarts, American Style’. Pop Tarts Not Already Sweet Enough? Add Some More Sugary Goodness

Pop Tarts are the one breakfast treat that everybody loves. This is largely because they couldn’t really get any sweeter (in theory). However, has anybody ever really asked if they actually could get any sweeter? The answer is that they probably could, but nobody has been daring enough to try. There’s probably a reason for this, but you can’t put down what you don’t know.
There’s nothing more mouth-watering than a hot, melting pop tart fresh out of the toaster. The gooey goodness inside the sugary shell is one of life’s greatest pleasures, so it makes logical sense to extend that melting gooeyness.  The way to do this is to get some of your favourite chocolate items, such as Reeces peanut butter cups, and melt them on top of the pop tart in the microwave. This way the pop tart becomes gooey inside and out, forming an explosion of sugar, syrup, and heaven. Ingenious? Perhaps.

9. ‘Eggs In blankets’, Known As Eggs In Bacon Cups, For Quick And Tasty Little Bites. No Bread Needed.

Without bacon and egg sandwiches, a lot of peoples’ lives would be incomplete. It’s safe to say, however, that the bacon and the fried egg are actually the best part. This is something that could be considered more often, and made more of: quite frequently the bread is the most filling part, leaving little room to enjoy the salty bacon and smooth warm yolk. There is a solution to this problem, about to be revealed.
The old days of bread and toast may well be lessening, when you can replace bread with just bacon – thereby creating eggs in bacon cups. These awesome creations are rapidly sweeping recipe sites, and are made by lightly frying bacon before baking it. There’s a clear pun in there somewhere. After frying the bacon you put it around the sides of each cup on a muffin-baking tray. The eggs are cracked into each of the muffin cups, that are wrapped with bacon, and then baked in the oven for about 15 minutes. Although perhaps not instant, this is a sure fire way to get your daily dose of bacon and egg, where tastiness happens all in one place. In short, it’s a sandwich without the hassle.

8. ‘Snickers On Toast’: The New Way To Make Toast Exciting (And Delicious).

This little gem makes breakfast so much more awesome. Just one way to add a little bit of variety to the well loved tasty snack Nutella on toast, this Snickers variety is often overlooked by some of the peanut butter jam-lovers. Whether achieved by melting an actual Snickers bar on toast or just using chocolate spread and peanut butter, the results are equally pleasing.
Considering chocolate spread, more specifically Nutella, has a small amount of praline essence in its flavour, it is perfectly plausible to combine it with a nut based paste. To make Snickers on toast, simply spread a large helping of Nutella on the slice of toast and enhance it with a generous second layer of peanut butter, preferably crunchy for texture purposes. Of course, if you don’t have crunchy peanut butter, an optional sprinkling of peanut M&Ms – to add more of a nutty texture – would’t go amiss. Failing that, you could just melt a snickers bar in the microwave and spread thickly on toasted bread for a more authentic flavour.

7. The Infamous ‘Chicken Nugget Pizza’: A Meat-Y-licious Delight!

This one is achieved by adding a large sprinkling of chicken nuggets and BBQ or garlic sauce on your average pizza base. Or a meaty pizza base, depending on how adventurous you want to be – only you know how to create your true slice of heaven.
Next time you’re ordering a takeaway, ask for a margherita (or meat feast) pizza, and separately some chicken nuggets. Hastily tip the chicken nuggets onto your delicious pizza and distribute sauce evenly throughout. Get your dip of choice, whether it be a tub of garlic dip of barbecue sauce, and there you have it, your very own chicken nugget pizza. If not in a takeaway situation this can easily be done with oven pizza and microwavable chicken, or even chips as well. This is an awesome variation on the London pizza (which is pizza with chips and garlic sauce on top). Heck, it could even be called the ‘McLondon pizza’.

6. ‘Parmo Chips’: Cheesy Fries Topped With Béchamel Sauce And Other Garnishes Of Your Choice.

As the parmo and the London pizza have already been covered, its time to come up with another creation inspired by these fast food forefathers. Fries can be treated with equal importance to deep fried chicken or pizza, so they are entitled to any amount of topping in their own right.
Although this is a not so healthy alternative to deep fried chicken, the recipe can consist – awesomely – of deep fried potato instead. At a takeout, order cheesy chips or fries, and ask for tub of béchamel sauce and, if spice is your thing, ask for extra jalapeño peppers too. The possibilities are endless though: pepperoni, ham, pineapple, peppers, whatever you want. Apply the ingredients generously and mix it up a bit. There you have it: chips with a parmo-topping. Superb.

5. ‘Krispy Ice Kreme’: Ben & Jerry’s With A Krispy Kreme Doughnut – The Icy Goodness.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are loved by everybody everywhere. So naturally it makes sense to include them in as many situations as possible, even situations with ice cream. Would could make an already sweet, fudge-y, bowl of ice cream better than a sweet, fudge doughnut?
The concept of taking an already chunky-sweet concoction of indulgence and adding more might be intimidating for some, but if you really want to test your taste bud tolerance then you might be tempted to try this testing adaptation. It’s easily done to buy a tub of ice cream (but incredibly hard not to eat the whole tub) and to take a few mouthfuls. If you feel as though your icy deliciousness needs bulking out, or would benefit from some more variety, now is the time to consider Krispy Kremes. Get one or two doughnuts, and cut them up into triangles. Place the triangles in the bowl – or tub – and mix them around until covered, then consume. Now you have your very own ice cream factory in an instant. Magnificent.

4. ‘Insane Jacket Inferno’. This One Is For The Carb Lovers: A Snack Piled With Beans Cheese, Cheese, Cheese, Peppers, And Hot Sauce

This fully-loaded potato kicker will make your taste buds implode. For the spicier food fan, you might have considered giving your lunch time jacket potato a bit of a kick. After all, Mexican beans are spicy enough. Perhaps it’s time to consider, albeit tenuous, influences from other cultures.
A hot jacket potato to go is a satisfying gift to the soul. Everyone loves some kind of potato mayo combo, or a cheesy-bean melt, but why not push the topping boundaries to the max?
A three-cheese pizza is a perfectly normal choice, but maybe dishes of the multiple cheese variety should be exploited in more contexts. Hot jacket potato with beans can be accompanied with layers of different cheeses, and lashings of the condiment of your choice: a subtle fast food hack that can add more flavour to your usual habits. One recommendation is to give this takeout a bit of a kick by adding hot sauce and jalapeños to a cheesy bean melt: this will give you all the wholeness of the bean but all the liveliness of the spice. Who wouldn’t try it?

3. ‘Calorific Cookie Cereal’: Breakfast Cereal With A Delicious Twist

Ever have trouble deciding between frosties and lucky charms? Perhaps mixing the two treats together in one bowl will change your indecision. Of course, the temptation of adding brownies or cookies might help too. Milk and cookies is a well honoured tradition – but it seems that few have thought about having milk and cookies in a bowl together for breakfast.
Next time you open the cupboard to discover your two favourite cereals, grab both boxes and shake a little of each into the same bowl. Depending on your cereal choice – nesquick and shreddies, golden nuggets and cornflakes – you could even add a dash of flavoured milk to make it even more unique.
Chocolate, strawberry, banana, or even coconut or soya milk could make a big difference to you cereal combinations. It doesn’t end here though, the best part of breakfast is finding a baked treat, such as a home made chocolate chip cookie or a delicious fudge brownie. Break them up and let the tasty chunks mix in with your cookie crisp or chosen cereal. Such an ingenious start to the day.

2. ‘Limitless Pancakes’: Pancakes Sweet and Savoury, and ‘Waffle Tacos’, Taco Bell’s new ingenious creation.

Golden or maple syrup are a traditional pancake or breakfast waffle topping, but how about adapting the dish to be, say, smothered in ice cream and magic stars? No-one has to conform to old known and loved ways of eating pancakes. Perhaps its time to replace maple syrup with treacle toffee, or lemon with ice cream and cookies. The opportunities are limitless.
If you’re in the mood for an awesome calorie-fest, ask for either a pancake stack or breakfast waffle with the topping of your choice, and adapt it by adding a bag of chocolatey goodness of your choice. Sweet pancakes or waffles are one of the most awesome perks of life’s fast-food repertoire, but maybe an extra ingredient could go a long way.
Perhaps bite-size crunchie chunks on a chocolate, syrup base is the way forward. Savoury, of course is an option too. Nachos are always available to be eaten in pancake format, for a very satisfying meal with that hint of sweet underneath. Nachos, soured cream, salsa, guacamole, and jalapeño peppers give comfort food a kick.
The real deal though, is Taco Bell’s ingenious idea of including the ‘waffle taco’ on their new breakfast menu. The taco is a breakfast waffle wrapped around bacon or sausage with scrambled eggs, cheese and syrup on the side.  The new revolution is inspirational to waffle lovers, who can adapt the recipe into their own combinational use of sweet waffles with savoury ingredients, for example, fried chicken.

1. The ‘McEverything Burger’: An Awesome Dude Has Gone To McDonalds And Taken The Liberty Of Combining, Well, Everything. Kudos.

Stacking burger after burger on top of each other to make giant burgers is a revolutionary craze that should have happened sooner. Any meat, any filling, any size – stack them high and secure with a skewer. This can be done, as proven,  metres high, at McDonalds or elsewhere.
The guy behind all this is an American blogger – who goes by the name of Nick Chapman – who decided to create for himself the ultimate McDonalds experience. He did this by ordering everything on the menu and stacking all the burgers together into one huge, mighty tower. A total of 43 sandwiches and over $100 was spent on this feat, and has created buzz around the potential of fast food.
As awesome as this is, you might not want to try it at home, that is, due to your human abilities to only eat so much. You can, however, buy a few burgers and stack them together to create a tall, magnificent McDonalds creation. Another ingenious idea is to pile a tower of onion rings on top of your burger for extra taste. So now that you’ve explored some new ideas, maybe its time to challenge your abilities to exploit your cravings in revolutionary ways. You don’t always have to try to go the extra mile and stack up every burger you’ve ever seen, but sometimes its rewarding to step out of your comfort zone.
Start as you mean to go on – accept the challenge.
